Florida Atlantic University has inked Barbora Palcatova to a women's tennis scholarship. The Slovakian holds a singles University Tennis Rating (UTR) of 11.16 and an 11.76 in doubles.
"Barbora is a team player that comes from a supportive family," said Marcy Cava, FAU's head women's tennis coach. "She has a spunky personality which I contribute to her confidence on and off the tennis court. We are excited for her addition and welcome her to the FAU family and specifically women's tennis."
Palcatova will join the Owls in January of 2019 and will be eligible to compete immediately afterwards. She intends to major in business and will bring an international skillset to the program with the ability to speak three languages: Slovak, Czech and English.
FAU women's tennis will have two individuals playing in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic from Sept. 20-Sept. 23. Their next event is scheduled for Sept. 24-Sept. 30 in Hilton Head, South Carolina. They will round out the month at the ITA All-American in Pepperdine, California, Sept. 29-30.
