Volleyball Defeats Miami-Dade in Exhibition

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team won four of five sets from Miami-Dade College in an exhibition on Saturday night. The Sharks, who will be seeking their third straight NJCAA title this season, won the first set, but FAU recovered to take the next four. Â

The Owls rallied from a 23-17 deficit in the first set to tie the score at 25, but the Sharks won the next two points to take the frame. FAU dominated set two and used a Ivone Martinez serving run to pull away late in set number three. The fourth set was also close down the stretch, as FAU needed three set points before a Sydney Nemtuda service ace to win the set. MDC led 10-6 in the fifth and final frame before the Owls regrouped and came back to close out the match 15-13.
