FAU's Bolsova Advances in $15,000 Orlando ITF

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Florida Atlantic University sophomore Aliona Bolsova topped Rasheeda McAdoo 6-3, 6-3 in the round of 16 to advance in the $15,000 Orlando ITF event on Thursday.
Bolsova beat Safiya Carrington 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 32 on Wednesday. Bolsova, the No. 5 seed, trailed 3-2 in the second set before mounting a comeback for the victory. She advances to face Chanel Simmonds on Friday.
"I was really impressed with Aliona's level of tennis today," FAU Head Coach Marcy Hora-Cava said. "Her opponent was a fantastic tennis player and Aliona recognized that from the start. Aliona stepped up her game and it was a matter of just a few points that made the difference"
