BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Senior Marisa Ruiz clinched the winning point in a 6-1 victory for the Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team over Georgetown on Monday.
- Ruiz and Aliona Bolsova teamed up to beat Casey Marx and Sara Swift 6-1 to open doubles play
- JaCara Gillis and Natalia Boltinskaya then topped Sydney Goodson and Sophie Henderson 6-1 to win the point for the Owls
- Gillis handled Goodson 6-0, 6-2 to begin singles play
- No. 3 Bolsova then beat Swift 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 1 slot to extend the advantage
- Ruiz topped Marx 6-2, 6-2 to win the match for FAU
- FAU's Kristen Thoms fell 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 to Daphne De Chatellus
- Jennifer Leib beat Cecilia Lynham 6-3, 4-6, 10-2 in the No. 6 slot
- Boltinskaya beat Drew Spinosa 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 to close out the match
