BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Florida Atlantic University freshman Patrick Poate edged a course record with his 65 on Sunday at Osprey Point in the final round of the FAU Spring Championship as the FAU men's golf team placed tenth overall.
- Poate, playing as an individual, tallied a 71-76-65 212 to tie for 10th out of the 114 participants. His third round score would have tied the course record, had it not been broken by UConn's Jimmy Hervol on Friday. Poate was second in the field with 17 birdies on the weekend and recorded an eagle.
- Ricky Hendler remained consistent throughout the weekend, recording a 71-70-71 212 to lead the FAU team participants, tying for 10th overall with this three under-par rounds
- Cody Christensen bounced back for a 77-72-72 221 to tie for 50th and tied with Chris Thomas to lead the field with 39 pars
- Freshman Karan Nalam turned in a 76-75-71 222 to tie for 58th
- Sully Zagerman followed with his 75-74-74 223, placing 65th
- Adam Friedman shot a 69-81-75 225 with 12 birdies for 78th place to round out the team participants
- Individually, Brian Dolehide tallied 37 pars in a 68-73-74 215 performance to tie for 24th
- Chris Thomas's 75-70-77 put him in 58th place
- Yuki Fujii's 74-76-75 225 was good enough for 78th place
- Lynn University won the event with a team score of 826 with UConn and Jacksonville State finishing second and third, respectively.
- UConn's Hervol won the individual title with his 64-67-70 201
