BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team closed out its 2018 home schedule with a pair of sweeps, defeating St. Pete College 4-0 in its first match, then downing Florida Southern 5-0 in its second match. The Sandy Owls are now 10-8 on the season.
Match 1 vs. St. Pete College
Brok and Morris kept their winning streak going with a straight set win at no. 4 for the first point of the match. Carly Scarbrough and Amanda Silva teamed up for the first time this season and won 21-14, 21-19 to give FAU a 2-0 lead. Gabrielle Dischler and Jessalyn Kinlaw won the first set at no. 1, then dropped the second set before taking the third set 15-12 to clinch the match for FAU. Brittany Pellitteri and Kaila Dorish dropped the first set 23-21 on court four, before rallying to take the match and complete the sweep for the Owls. The two teams did not play a fifth court.

Match 2 vs. Florida Southern
Pellitteri and Dorish made quick work of their opponents on court four to give FAU a 1-0 lead. Nicole Navarro and Julia Lewkowicz soon followed at no. 5 to put the Sandy Owls just one point away from victory. Brok and Morris notched their 16th win of the season to clinch the match for FAU on court three. Silva and Scarbrough won in convincing fashion at no. 1. A Dischler ace closed out the match and finished the sweep for the Sandy Owls. Sam Gott and Megan McGrath won the exhibition match by matching scores of 21-10, 21-10
