BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team fell in a 6-1 match against No. 30 Syracuse on Tuesday. Sophomore Aliona Bolsova, however, remains unbeaten in singles play this season.
- The Owls lost the doubles point, despite Aliona Bolsova and Jemi Aguilar winning their match over Syracuse's Gabriela Knutson and Miranda Ramierez in the No. 1 slot
- Syracuse took control of the match as Marisa Ruiz fell 6-2, 6-1 and Jennifer Leib lost 6-1, 6-3 in singles
- After JaCara Gillis was topped 6-3, 6-2 by Sofya Golubovskaya, Bolsova earned FAU's lone point in a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Gabriela Knutson at No. 1 singles
- Syracuse rounded out the match with wins over Natalia Boltinskaya and Kristen Thoms
