BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University Head Volleyball Coach
Fernanda Nelson has announced the signing of Camryn Vogler and Stephanie Young for the 2019 season.
"These two players will be a lot of fun to coach," said Nelson. "Their personalities and work ethic will add a lot to our culture. I enjoyed getting to know both of them and their families throughout the recruiting process."
Vogler has been playing varsity volleyball since the seventh grade, spending two years at the Academy of the Holy Names before transferring to Tampa-Plant High School, where she was a four-time All-Hillsborough County selection. Additionally, Vogler also made the All-Western Conference team four times. She recorded her 1,000th career kill this season while helping the Panthers to the 8A State Championship match. On the club circuit, she made the USA Volleyball Junior Nationals All-Tournament team three times and won two International Youth titles with HP Team Florida.
Young, from Frisco, Texas and Reedy High School, is a two-time all-district setter who was named team and District MVP and led the Lions to a 24-4 record. Reed High appeared in the 5A State Quarterfinals. She was an Under Armour All-American nominee who made the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State Team. Young also got it done in the classroom, making the TGCA State All-Academic Team and graduating in the top-10 percent of her high school class.
"Camryn and Stephanie will both impact our team right away," commented Nelson. "We can't wait to have them here with us."
