Ingram, Gaston Capture Players of the Week Titles

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University athletics has named basketball players Jailyn Ingram and Amber Gaston as players of the week.
Ingram racked up two double-doubles this past week, as the men's basketball team propelled past Palm Beach Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast. The junior forward tallied his fourth 20-point game of the young season by scoring 23 points and tallying 11 rebounds in the Owls' 73-62 win over Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday. Ingram pitched in 11 points and 10 boards against Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday, while also leading the team with six assists and three steals.
Gaston was a top contributor for the Owls in all aspects on the court this past weekend in the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament. The freshman helped the Owls take down Lafayette 53-49 on Friday, tallying eight points, five rebounds and four blocks. On Saturday versus Bradley, Gaston was the leading scorer for the Owls, totaling 15 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. The Vicksburg, Mississippi, native is now leading the Owls in blocks on the year.
Men's basketball will try to extend its winning streak to five on Saturday, as the Owls will face Bethune-Cookman at 4 p.m. in Daytona Beach, Florida. The women the Owls will make their way down to New Orleans to take on Tulane this Wednesday at 8 p.m.
