Owls to Play Home Games Against Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team begins the second half of its Conference USA schedule with two home games. The Owls will host Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. Both contests could potentially hold large implications for the C-USA as tournament as FAU is currently tied with both teams in addition to UTSA with a 4-5 league record.
Last Week: FAU (10-11, 4-5 C-USA) split its second conference road trip to the Lone Star State, losing to North Texas 59-53 on Thursday night before defeating Rice 63-62 on a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Justin Massey. Senior center Ronald Delph was named C-USA Player of the Week after averaging 20.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in the two games. Delph was the first FAU player in over four years to win the award.
History: Louisiana Tech (13-9, 4-5) comes into Thursday's meeting on a three-game winning streak. The Bulldogs hold a 3-1 lead over FAU in the all-time series, including a 95-69 win last season in Ruston. Southern Miss (11-11, 4-5) lost to La Tech in its only game last week. The Golden Eagles and Owls have split their four previous encounters, FAU evening the score with a 94-82 victory last season, led by a career-high 25 points from Gerdarius Troutman.
