BOCA RATON, Fla. - Aliona Bolsova and JaCara Gillis extended their singles winning streaks, but the Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team fell to FGCU 4-3 Wednesday at the FAU Tennis Complex.

- The Owls got off to a hot start, winning the doubles point behind the Bolsova/Jemi Aguilar combination's 6-4 win and Gillis/Natalia Boltinskaya winning 6-2
- 2 Bolsova took care of business in singles, beating Julia Ascua 6-2, 6-0 to extend her winning streak to six matches
- Gillis followed closely with a 6-0, 6-2 win against Laura Falceto in No. 4 singles
- FGCU's Maja Ornberg topped Boltinskaya 6-1, 6-3 to put the Eagles on the board
- Kristen Thoms battled, but lost 6-4, 6-4 to Sofia Perez in the No. 3 slot
- Jennifer Leib then lost 6-3, 7-6 to Patricia Villar as FGCU tied the match
- Freshman Jemi Aguilar's comeback fell short 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 against Madison Gallegos as FGCU earned the victory
