LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University men's and women's cross country runners took part in Friday night's 18th annual FLRunners.com Invitational, notching another race under their belts ahead of the back half of their regular season schedule.
Men's Notables:
- Jonathan Werble was the first Division I runner across the line Friday, running the 5K in a time of 16:50
- Freshman Sean Barone was the third DI finisher, racing a 17:14
- Placing fifth through eighth was the quartet of John Marting (17:23), Lachlan Shiver (17:24), Ross Rabalais (17:43) and Cristian Moreno (17:49)
Women's Notables:
- The top Owl on the women's side was Mikaela Jonsson, second among DI racers, in 19:55
- Freshman Megan Giovanniello was fourth (20:15), and fellow first-year Morgan Graff seventh (20:47)
- Rounding out with top-10 showings were Jasmine Van Tine (ninth in a season-low 21:03) and Johanna Freeman (10th, 21:11)
What's Next:
Each side will head to Celebration, Florida, to compete at the Disney World Invitational, next Saturday, Oct. 7.
