Day One Results

Florida Atlantic University swimming and diving's Victoria Moretti will be the first FAU diver to attend the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in 15 years after she finished eighth in the 3-meter at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships on Monday night.

"I am amazed with the way Victoria dove. It was so great to see her perform at this level and with this type of competition," said Gamboa. "She has been with me for the past three years, and to see how far she has come as a person and as a diver is amazing. The trust she has in me is special and makes me realize why I do what I do and why I am a coach. I also am very proud of Ryan and the way he fought today even though he may not have been at his best. I know he can come back tomorrow and make it happen, and I look forward to that."

It came down to the sixth and final dive, but Moretti sealed the deal as she took eighth place in the 3-meter with a score of 597.50. The freshman is the first diver to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Marion Reiff in 2002 and the first Owl to go since swimmer Agnes Bucz competed in 2015.
Ryan McIntire concluded his first day of competition with an 18^th-place finish in the 1-meter final (556.45).

Prelims

McIntire snuck in under the wire as he took 18^th in the prelims (279.85) to advance to the 1-meter Championship Final.
Moretti fared well in the prelims as she took ninth overall to move on to the final event. She posted a score of 294.60.
Unfortunately, Miles Miller was unable to make the trip. He was slated to compete in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events.
