BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - (March 2, 2017) - A late second half run proved too much for the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team to overcome in a 79-59 loss to UAB on Thursday. Adonis Filer led the Owls with 15 points, while Ronald Delph added 12.

The Turning Point

Delph hit a jumper with 11:37 to go in the game to pull the Owls (10-18, 6-11 Conference USA) within nine, 57-48. UAB (16-14, 9-8) responded with a 20-7 run to put the contest away.

Notables

Filer's 15-point night marked the eighth time in the last 10 games that he has scored in double figures.
In addition to his dozen points, Delph grabbed six rebounds to lead the Owls.
Nick Rutherford had nine points, three rebounds and five assists.
UAB outshot the Owls 57 percent to 28 percent in the second half.
