Men's basketball's Justin Massey and men's tennis' Remi Chancerel represent Florida Atlantic University Players of the Week after lights out performances in competition last week.
Massey played a key role in the team sweeping their road trip over the weekend. On Thursday night, he had 11 points, two rebounds, two steals and an assist in FAU's 77-75 win over Charlotte. The sophomore was even better in Saturday's win over Old Dominion. He scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half and capped off an 11-0 FAU run with the go-ahead three-pointer that propelled the Owls to a 65-61 lead over the Monarchs. That victory gave FAU its first three-game conference road win streak in more than five years. For the weekend, he averaged 14.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and a steal.
Chancerel went undefeated in four matches last week, winning eight of his nine singles sets along with all four doubles matches.
