FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team took the doubles point but was unable to hold off FGCU as the Eagles won Sunday's match 5-2.

• After an FAU loss in the first doubles pairing, Laura Fabrizi and Ana Gutierrez teamed up to defeat FGCU's Julia Ascua and Julianna Curtis 6-4
• Marisa Ruiz and Lyndsey Boos then earned the point for the Owls with a 6-4 win over Sara Kelly and Laura Falceto Font
• FGCU's Kelly rallied to top Ruiz for the first point in singles play 7-5, 6-2
• Breana Stampfli followed suit for the Eagles and she fended off Gutierrez 7-5, 6-4
• Boos put the Owls back in the spotlight with her 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory over Ascua to even the match at 2-2
• Despite each Owl winning a set in the following three matches, the Eagles came away with three straight wins to take the match
