Young, Reid Named Players of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University named Jalen Young (football) and Abbi Reid (volleyball) student-athletes of the week, for the week of Nov. 6.
Young tied the program record for interceptions in a game with three against Marshall on
Friday night. The junior also contributed four tackles in the 30-25 win over Marshall. Young was
named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
Reid, an All C-USA First Team selection posted a pair of solid marches over the
weekend. On Friday, the junior had nine kills, two blocks, and a dig against UTSA. On Sunday
against UTEP, Reid had 12 kills, two blocks, and a service ace on the way to the Owls clinching
a spot in the C-USA Tournament later this month. For the weekend, the Colorado native
averaged 3.50 kills and .67 blocks per set.
Football looks to stay undefeated in C-USA play as the Owls travel to Louisiana Tech
this Saturday. The game will be broadcast live at 3:30 p.m ET. on STADIUM. Volleyball will
wrap up its regular season on the road at UAB on Thursday and at Charlotte on Saturday. First
serve in Birmingham is set for 8:00 p.m ET.
