Driskel, Nemtuda Named Players of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University named Jason Driskel (football) and Sydney Nemtuda (volleyball) as Players of the Week for the week of Oct. 23.
Driskel led a dominant FAU offense that tallied a program record 804 yards and 69 points on Saturday night. The offense also broke a C-USA record for yards, previously set in 2008. He threw for 357 yards and two scores, contributing 68 yards rushing and another score while playing only three quarters. Driskel also broke the FAU record for yards per completion with 14.9 yards per completion while completing 68.5 percent of his passes.
Nemtuda contributed to two Owl victories over the weekend, a sweep of La. Tech and a win over Southern Miss. The freshman had nine kills, an ace, and eight digs against La. Tech on Friday. Nemtuda followed that performance with her third double-double of the season with 17 kills and 10 digs, in addition to four blocks and an ace to beat Southern Miss.
Football will travel to Western Kentucky as the Owls continue Conference USA play on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 4:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on STADIUM. Volleyball will continue C-USA play against FIU on Friday, Oct. 27 and Marshall on Sunday, Oct. 29. First serve on Friday night is set for 7 p.m.
