RUSTON, La. -The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team went on the road and swept Louisiana Tech (25-15, 26-24, 25-22) on Friday night. The Owls improved to 12-7 on the year and 3-4 in Conference USA play.

LA Tech (6-16, 1-7 C-USA) held a modest 7-5 lead early in the first set when the Owls went on an 8-2 run to take a 13-9 advantage. The Lady Techsters took the next four points to even the score before FAU closed on a 12-2 spurt to take the set. Kori Varney served the Owls out to a 4-0 lead in set number two, but LA Tech leveled the score at 5-5. The Lady Techsters built an 18-12 margin and seemed poised to tie the match at a set each, however, the Owls battled all the way back to knot the score at 23. The Lady Techsters regained the lead with a kill, but FAU won the next three points to secure the victory and a 2-0 lead. The Owls stormed out to a 7-2 cushion in the third set, but couldn't put LA Tech away, as the Lady Techsters whittled the lead down to two, 23-21. Abbi Reid and Sigourney Kame had the final two kills of the match and clinched the sweep for the Owls.
