Sydney Nemtuda Named C-USA Freshman of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University volleyball outside hitter Sydney Nemtuda was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week on Monday.
The freshman, from Algonquin, Illinois, has seen her playing time steadily increase since the beginning of the season and just registered her best weekend of the year. Against FIU on Friday night, Nemtuda registered 10 kills and 10 digs for her first career double-double. She added three service aces, two assists and two blocks. In FAU's match against Charlotte on Saturday, she was even better with 19 kills and 16 digs for her second straight double-double.
For the weekend, she averaged 3.62 kills and 3.25 digs per set with a .221 hitting percentage.
FAU will travel to Rice and Middle Tennessee this weekend. Friday's match at Rice is set for a 7 p.m. ET time. Live stats will be available at fausports.com.
