BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University Department of Athletics has worked with AT&T to “Boost the Network Performance” at FAU Stadium. Gamedays at FAU Stadium will have better connectivity with the addition of more than 50 new antennas allowing FAU students and fans to share the moments with friends and family.
“Florida Atlantic athleFAUtics is committed to providing the FAU, the Boca Raton community and the surrounding communities the best collegiate game atmosphere possible,” said Pat Chun, FAU’s vice president and director of athletics. “The continued collaboration with AT&T is just another example of FAU’s commitment to excellence.”
The upgrade included more than 50 antennas and 25,000 miles of cable to the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) at the stadium. The results is a 200 percent increase in capacity, providing the ability for more traffic and faster data speeds.
A DAS is made of numerous, small antennas that distribute AT&T wireless network coverage. It shortens the distance a call or text must travel. Calls, texts and posts are less likely to get stuck in a “traffic jam” of other calls, texts and posts.
FAU Athletics is committed to constantly striving for excellence, while AT&T constantly invests in the Florida network in an effort to provide customers with a high-quality service.
