BOCA RATON, Fla. - (Jan. 26, 2017) - A 15-1 second half run was the difference in the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team's 83-65 win over FIU on Thursday night. Four different Owls scored during the rally. The victory snapped a four game losing streak and improved FAU to 6-13 overall and 2-6 in Conference USA play.

The Turning Point

The Panthers (5-16, 1-7) scored five points in a row to take a 47-46 lead with 15:37 remaining in the game. FAU responded with their pivotal run over the next five and a half minutes to regain control of the contest. FIU never got closer than 12 the rest of the game.

Notables

Adonis Filer and Gerdarius Troutman each had 18 points to lead all scorers. Troutman also had his first career start.
Jeantal Cylla scored 16 points, tying his season high.
Ronald Delph just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds to go along with three blocks.
The Owls also outscored FIU 23-9 on fast break points and 39-12 off the bench.
The win also gave FAU a season sweep of the Panthers for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
