Men's Golf Hosts Match Play at Abacoa

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team will host its first event of the year in the FAU Match Play Championship Oct. 1-2 at the Abacoa Golf Club in Jupiter, Fla. The Owls will take on FGCU, Bethune Cookman and Stetson on the par-72, 7,220-yard course.
Adam Friedman, a freshman from Westport, Conn. and Ricky Hendler, a transfer from Hofstra, join returnees Caleb Sibley, Brian Dolehide and Luke Campbell to make up the FAU roster.
The 2016-17 squad features five newcomers who could see action throughout the fall and spring seasons. Along with Friedman and Hendler, Eric DeKarski, Kristian Perry and Sully Zagerman are in their first seasons at FAU. Campbell, Dolehide, Sibley, Yuki Fujii and Chris Thomas continue their careers as Owls under head coach Angelo Sands.
FGCU will square off against Bethune Cookman to open play, starting at 11:30 a.m. FAU will then play against Stetson starting at 11:51 a.m. The teams will be reseeded for Sunday's round at the same tee times. Full results will be available on FAUSports.com at the conclusion of play.
