Round One Results
After the first 18 holes of play at the Conference USA Men's Golf Championship, the Florida Atlantic University men's golf team is tied for 12th with a total of 309 (+21).
The member schools are playing 54 holes of stroke play (April 24-26) on the par 72, 6,969-yard course, with the top four teams advancing to a four-team seeded match play playoff to be conducted Wednesday, April 27. UAB is currently in the lead with a one-round total of 285 (-3).
The top finishers for the Owls were Pablo Gerboles-Parrilla and Caleb Sibley who are tied for 35th after both shooting 76. Senior Gerboles-Parrilla birdied the par-four 17th and 18th holes while junior Sibley had two birdies on the day coming on the par-fifth seventh and 16th holes.
Coming in tied for 47th was Jackson Shoenfelt with a round of 78. The freshman had two birdies in the round with one coming on the front nine second hole, and the back nine 13th hole.
Derron Peyton and Michael Perez rounded out the group tied for 53rd and 63rd, respectively. Both players had one birdie through the first 18 holes.
The first Owl will tee off on Monday, April 26 at 9:50 a.m. ET to begin the second round of play. Live results can be found here.
