Round One Results
The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team completed day one of Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate.
The BNI is being played at the Sevierville Golf Club Highlands course Sevierville, Tennessee. The Owls finished the first round in seventh place with a team total of 324.
The course is a par 71 with a total yardage of 5,803. The 12-team field features Southern Mississippi, Youngstown State, UNCG, Tennessee Tech, Austin Peay State, Oakland, Western Illinois, Evansville, Carson-Newman, Radford, Tennessee State.
Sophomore Daniella Castaneda was FAU's top finisher on the day tied for fifth shooting five-over 76 in round one. Senior Christina Langer followed, ending the day tied for 21st place after shooting an 81 in the first round.
Kadi Pallastrone finished close behind coming in tied for 27th place after day one carding a 11-over 82, respectively. Rounding out the Owls' competitors is junior Heather Netti and freshman Emily Faulkner currently in 47th shooting a 85 and Faulkner is tied for 60th after shooting an 88.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for the team to learn how to play in some different conditions and I thought they did well today. We are presently in 7th out of 14 teams and believe we can make up some ground the next two days." Said Head Coach Kathy Baker-Guadagnino.
The second day of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate will kick off with a start at 12:00 p.m. on Monday March 21.
