FAU Diving team Competes at All Star Meet

Florida Atlantic's diving team competed this weekend at the All Star Meet in Orlando. Four owls represented FAU this past weekend, they were Cory Melcher, Kiley Kuether, Alexa Elkins, and Ryan McIntire.

On Friday, there were 14 women competing in the 1 meter competition. Kuether and Elkins had outstanding dives that allowed them to advance on to the final round and compete again. Melcher feel just short of the final round but still dove very well. Elkins finished sixth overall in the competition, as Kuether was right behind her placing eighth out of 14.

The lone representative for the men's FAU diving team, Ryan McIntire continued his success on the board this year. McIntire advanced to the final round of competition and finished in second place overall in the 1 meter dive.

Saturday the men and women competed in the 3 meter dive. Elkins and Kuether advanced on to semi finals after both having excellent dives in the first round.

With continued success on the board both Elkins and Kuether competed in the final round finishing seventh and eighth overall, respectively. McIntire performed very well again advancing to the final round and placing 5th overall.

The Owls are off to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the Conference USA (Feb. 24-27) and CCSA (Feb. 17-20) Swimming and Diving Championships. Make sure to get all of your swimming and diving news by following the team on Twitter @fauswimdive or visiting FAUsports.com.
