BOCA RATON, Fla. - A season-high 16 points from Jeantal Cylla was not enough, as the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team lost 75-62 to Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday night. FAU now stands at 4-7 on the season.
The Turning Point
Marcus Neely made a layup with 3:56 remaining in the first half to cut FAU's deficit to three, 24-21. The Eagles (10-5) closed the half with a 14-3 run to take a 38-24 lead into the locker room. The lead remained in double digits for the rest of the game.
Notables
Quotable
Head Coach Michael Curry
"We weren't nearly aggressive enough defensively. (FGCU's guards) controlled the game with their aggressiveness... I didn't think we were aggressive and (FGCU) turned the ball over 17 times. If we could have been more aggressive, we could have gotten more live ball turnovers that might have gotten us more transition buckets."
