Men's Hoops Fall 75-62 to FGCU

BOCA RATON, Fla. - A season-high 16 points from Jeantal Cylla was not enough, as the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team lost 75-62 to Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday night. FAU now stands at 4-7 on the season.
The Turning Point
Marcus Neely made a layup with 3:56 remaining in the first half to cut FAU's deficit to three, 24-21. The Eagles (10-5) closed the half with a 14-3 run to take a 38-24 lead into the locker room. The lead remained in double digits for the rest of the game.
Notables
- Cylla's 16 points mark the fourth time in five games that he has scored in double-figures.
- Justin Massey added 10 points. It was his second double-digit scoring game in a row.
- Marcus Neely was singled out by Head Coach Michael Curry for his defensive effort in his first start of the season.
- William Pfister had four points, two assists, two blocks and played stout defense in his 17 minutes of action.

"We weren't nearly aggressive enough defensively. (FGCU's guards) controlled the game with their aggressiveness... I didn't think we were aggressive and (FGCU) turned the ball over 17 times. If we could have been more aggressive, we could have gotten more live ball turnovers that might have gotten us more transition buckets."
