Boca Raton, Fla. -
With team-leading performances last week, women's basketball's Raven Doyle and swimming and diving's Ryan McIntire have been named Florida Atlantic University Players of the Week.
Doyle saw her second double-double of the season after putting up a season and career-best 22 points and tying her career high of 11 rebounds against North Florida on Sunday. The redshirt junior forward shot a season-high 75.0 percent from the field against the Ospreys and went 55.7 on the weekend. She again led the team in points and rebounds against Mercer on Friday night with 12 and eight. Doyle is averaging 13.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, which puts her 17th and 4th in Conference USA, respectively. She is also 15-for-17 from the free throw line, which puts her sixth in C-USA (.882) in that category.
McIntire was one of the men's top performers at George Mason's Patriot Invitational last week as he took home two solo wins, the most for FAU, to earn the Owls 40 points. The graduate student saw his first win on day one in the 1-meter, which marks his second in this event this year, with a total score of 306.25. He followed that up the next day with a victory in the 3-meter, also his second of the season, with his highest score to-date in this event of 304.70. He helped the team secure a sixth-place finish with a 512.50 points.
Women's basketball is back home to host their annual Thanksgiving Tournament on Friday, Nov. 25 and Saturday, Nov. 26. FAU will play Jacksonville State on the 25th at noon while Richmond will take on Florida A&M at 2:30 p.m. The winners of both of those games will face each other at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 26 while the losers will play the first game that day at noon. Swimming and diving will get back to work and train for their next meet on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 4:30 p.m. when they will host Denver and William & Mary at the FAU Aquatic Center.
