IRVING, Texas - Three Florida Atlantic University volleyball players earned all-conference honors, announced by the Conference USA office on Wednesday in advance of the C-USA Volleyball Championship, which begins Friday, Nov. 18 at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
Outside hitter Maja Ristić was named to the first team for the second consecutive year. The senior from Brcko, Bosnia once again leads the team in kills (382), kills per set (3.6) and service aces (38), as she did last season. Her 3.6 kill-per-set average is fourth in the conference. Ristic was named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season for totaling 40 kills in a pair of five set wins over Rice and North Texas.
Sophomore Abbi Reid also was named First Team All C-USA. Reid led the team in hitting percentage (.343) and blocks per set (0.84) despite playing out of position most of the season. The native of Denver, Colorado, also averaged 2.45 kills per set and she posted 14 double-digit kill matches during the year.
Sigourney Kame was named to the All-Freshman team. Kame, from Paramaribo, Suriname, finished the regular season second on the team in kills per set (2.89). She had 16 double-digit kill matches and was named C-USA Freshman of the Week for the final regular-season weekend.
FAU will face UTSA in the first round of the Conference USA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. Eastern. Links to live stats and live video will be available at fausports.com.
