Boca Raton, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University diver Ryan McIntire has begun the season in true reigning Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Diver of the Year fashion by earning his first CCSA Men's Diver of the Week honor after posting big wins last weekend.
In his first official competition of the year against Indian River State College, McIntire secured his first win in the three-meter with a total score of 296.02. He also came in second in the one-meter dive with a score of 319.35. He followed up those performances by bringing his "A" game versus Princeton as he scored a 316.35 in the one-meter to claim victory and came in second in the three-meter with a final score of 281.445.
"Being my first year as the diving coach here at FAU, this is truly a great way for Ryan and the program to start off the season," said Diving Coach Yaidel Gamboa. "Ryan continues to impress me with his performance as well as his unwavering commitment to his training and to constant improvement. We have been working very hard, and I only expect Ryan to get better as the season progresses."
