Oct. 25, 2016 ESTERO, Fla. -- Ricky Hendler improved each round, finishing with a third-round 72, to lead the Florida Atlantic University men's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the FGCU Invitational.
- FAU climbed four spots in the final round on Tuesday to claim sixth after trailing the field of 16 midway through the first round.
- FAU's third-round 295 bested any other team's performance by two strokes.
- The Owls tallied 36 birdies in the tournament
- Hendler shot a 77-73-72 224 to tie for seventh in the 91-player field after sitting in 30th place after the first round.
- Hendler led the field with 11 birdies on the week
- Luke Campbell dropped his rounds from 80 in the first to 71 in the final round to jump to 23rd
- Senior Caleb Sibley also improved each round, capping off the tournament with a 74 for 38th place
- Brian Dolehide and Adam Friedman each shot 241 for the week to finish tied for 61st
