Volleyball Hosts Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Having won their last five contests in a row, the Florida Atlantic University volleyball team will begin a three-match homestand this weekend, hosting Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss.
Last Week: FAU (10-10, 5-1 Conference USA) won both of its matches in five sets last week. FAU rallied to beat Rice on Tuesday in a tilt that was rescheduled due to Hurricane Matthew. On Sunday, the Owls defeated North Texas on the road. Senior outside hitter Maja Ristic was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for her performance. Louisiana Tech (10-13, 1-6) lost twice last weekend, getting swept by Southern Miss and falling to Marshall in four sets. Southern Miss (15-6, 4-2) enters the weekend having won three of its last four, sweeping Louisiana Tech in its only contest last week.
History: The Owls have won three of the four previous meetings with Louisiana Tech, including a sweep last season in Ruston. FAU and Southern Miss have split the six all-time meetings. The Owls dropped the first set in Boca Raton last season before rallying to win the match in four sets.
