Final Results
The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team finished play at the Jacksonville University Classic on Tuesday afternoon placing 12th with a team total of 928.
Seventeen-year-old freshman phenom, Emily Faulkner was FAU's top finisher, tying for 47th and finishing out her final round seven-over 79 with a total of 230. Christina Langer finished close behind tied for 52nd place, carding 77 in the third round after shooting 79 and 75 in the first and second rounds, respectively. Sophomore Kadi Pallastrone followed, ending the tournament tied for 55th place after shooting 76 in the first round, 79 in the second, and 77 on the final day.
With a tournament total of 238, sophomore Daniella Castaneda tied for 63rd after two days of competition. Individual competitor for the Owls, Gabrielle Brackrog completed the tournament with a total score of 243, placing her in 66th overall. Rounding out the Owls' was sophomore Tai Barber who finished in 68th place, shooting a total score of 245 for the tournament.
"I am very proud of our team for scoring two rounds under 310. The 306 and 308 team totals were better than any scores we posted all of last year and we bettered last year's team total at the JU Classic by 26 strokes!" Said Head Coach of the Lady Owls Kathy Baker-Guadagnino.
"One of my goals coming into this year with this recruiting class was to significantly increase the depth of talent on our team and create an environment of healthy competition. We are off to a good start and I am expecting great things this year."
The Owls will compete in the 38th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational, the final tournament of the team's fall season, on Oct. 25-27th in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
