JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Florida Atlantic University track and field concluded the season at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championship on Saturday.

The 4x100 meter relay team did not finish their race as the final baton exchange on the last leg of the race was made outside of the regulation zone.

The team consisting of Deja Jones, Sitia Martinez, Sherline Valentin, and Regina Wilkerson broke the school record twice this season, most recently at the Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 44.75.

The first-place finisher from the event was Florida with a time of 42.93. The top 12 teams from the 4x100 meter relay will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship Finals in Eugene, Ore. on June 10-13.

The men's and women's cross country season will begin in fall 2015. The official schedule will be announced later this year.
