BOCA RATON, Fla. -
Heather Netti, a sophomore on the women's golf team, was named Conference USA Co-Most Improved Golfer along with FIU's Meghan MacLaren as announced by the conference Wednesday.
"The team and I are really excited and happy for her because she worked really hard this year and has improved immensely," said Kathy Baker-Guadagnino, head FAU women's golf coach. "I think she is well deserving of this honor. She has a heart of gold, and we are looking for her to continue to lead and be a positive influence on everyone next season."
Netti improved her stroke average from 84.07 as an Owl freshman to 78.82 in 2014-15.
She was the team's top finisher in all eight tournaments this year. Her best finish came at the Lady Falcon Invitational, where she tied for 14th with a two-round total of 156 (+12). She also shot season low rounds of 74 at the Jacksonville University Classic and C-USA Women's Golf Championship.
