After the first 18 holes of play at the Conference USA Men's Golf Championship, the Florida Atlantic University men's golf team is tied for 12th with a total of 299 (+11).
The member schools are playing 54 holes of stroke play (April 26-28) on the par 72, 6,935-yard course, with the top four teams advancing to a four-team seeded match play playoff to be conducted Wednesday, April 29. UAB is currently in the lead with a one-round total of 276 (-12).
The top finishers for the Owls were Pablo Gerboles-Parrilla and Cody Christensen who are tied for 27th after both shooting 73. Senior Gerboles-Parrilla birdied the par-five second and seventh holes and the par-four ninth hole while freshman Christensen had two birdies on the day.
Coming in tied for 47th was Michael Perez with a round of 75. The junior had an impressive four birdies in the round with three coming on the back nine.
Connor O'Rourke and Derron Peyton rounded out the group both tied for 61st place with a stroke count of 78. Both players had two birdies through the first 18 holes.
The first Owl will tee off on Monday, April 26 at 9:50 a.m. ET to begin the second round of play. Live results can be found here.
