Derron Peyton was Florida Atlantic University's top performer tying for second place in the seventh annual FAU Slomin Autism Championship. The men's golf team finished 11th out of 20 teams with a three-round total of 888.
Peyton finished play with a total of 211 after shooting rounds of 67, 69 and 75. He totaled 13 birdies, two during the final round, and one eagle on the par-five 11th hole during the first round.
Connor O'Rourke tied for 40th after shooting a 75 on the last day of play for a tournament total of 222. The sophomore had five birdies over three days of play.
Freshman Cody Christensen tied for 65th with a total stroke count of 227. He put up nine birdies, including two in the third round on the par-four seventh and 17th holes.
Michael Perez started round three with a birdie on the par-five first hole and ended the round four-over 75. His three-day total was 228, which tied him for 71st.
After hitting a hole-in-one in the second round, freshman Chris Thomas finished the tournament tied for 96th with a total of 236. He had one birdie in the third round and shot an 82.
FAU had six individuals competing in the tournament. Pablo Gerboles-Parrilla led that group tying for 26th with a total of 220 and a season-low third round of 70. He ended play with 15 birdies, six of which were on the final day.
Caleb Sibley came in tied for 33rd with two rounds of 73 and a final round of 75. His performance included seven birdies overall. After a season-low second round of 73, Luke Campbell tied for 40th after shooting a total of 222. Tyler Bricker shot 81, a season-low 71, and 73 to end the tournament tied for 47th. Bricker had a tournament-high four birdies in the final round.
In his last competition as an Owl, senior and team captain Morgan Hill shot a three-round total of 240, which included one birdie in each of the first two rounds. Roman Cenizal also had two birdies over the course of play and finished with 241.
The tournament was held at the Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth, Fla. The teams played on the North course, which is a par 71 with a yardage of 6,876.
The Owls will compete in the Red Wolves Intercollegiate hosted by Arkansas State on April 4-5 in Jonesboro, Ark.
