BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic women's tennis traveled to Daytona on Friday to take on Bethune-Cookman and came up short of their second victory on the season, losing 5-2. FAU challenged the wildcats winning one doubles position and two singles matches as well as pushing a third singles match to a third set.

FAU junior Catalina Ene, and FAU sophomore Lyndsey Boos defeated Chinatsu Kajiwara and Gaby Chinchilla 6-4, for the lone doubles win. Boos carried that momentum into singles and defeated Maria Mareno-Garoz 6-3, 6-4. FAU sophomore Bianca Biglione played three sets and came away with a win against Adel Musina 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7).

FAU women's tennis head coach Marcy Cava, was dissapointed in the loss. "I hope today was a wake up call for some of the ladies on my team" said Cava.
"Bethune came to compete and they did exactly that. I commend them and I am dissapointed in our level of play today. Tomorrow is a new day out on the court and I hope to see what my team is made of."

Both Boos and Biglione are 2-0 on the season. Biglione tied for the most wins on the team last season with 13 and finished the season on a five match-winning streak. Boos longest win streak last season was two games and she finished last season 8-7.

The Owls are back in action tomorrow Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. against Georgia Southern in Deland, FL.
