BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team will take part in the inaugural Queen of the Beach tournament this Saturday, Nov. 4, in Hudson, Fla. The event is part of the team's fall practice schedule.
Beach volleyball teams from around the state, including several fellow members of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association will take part in the event. The teams will compete in best-of-three pool play matches, with the top three teams in each pool advancing to the elimination round.
"This is a great way to gauge the progress we have made in the fall," said Capri Grotowski, FAU head beach volleyball coach. "It also will give us a taste of what we can expect in the spring when we officially start play in the CCSA."
The Queen of the Beach event will be held at Sun West Park in Hudson, Fla. Pool play starts at 9 a.m., with the elimination round expected to start at 1 p.m.
