Three FAU Volleyball Players Earn Conference USA Recognition

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Three Florida Atlantic University volleyball players earned all-conference honors, announced by the Conference USA office today in advance of the Conference USA Volleyball Championship, which begins Friday, Nov. 20 at UTSA in San Antonio.
Outside hitter Maja Ristic was named to the first team. The junior from Bosnia leads the team in kills (285) and kills per set (3.8) despite missing the latter part of the season due to injury. Ristic also averaged 2.76 digs per set. She tallied a career high 26 kills earlier this season versus Florida Gulf Coast.
Senior Brittney Brown was named Second Team All C-USA for the second year in a row. Brown played both middle blocker and rightside hitter during the season. Brown is second on the team in kills per set (2.69), total blocks (93) and blocks per set (0.97). She posted 15 double-digit kill matches during the year and her .298 career hitting percentage is third all-time in school history.
Gabriela Martin was named to the all-freshman team. Martin finished the regular season second in the conference with a .404 hitting percentage. She led the team in blocks per set (1.07) and also averaged 2.25 kills per set. She was named C-USA Freshman of the Week twice during the season.
FAU is the tournament's No. 5 seed at and will face No. 4 North Texas at 8 p.m. eastern on Friday. Live stats of the game will be available at www.fausports.com.
