Women's Soccer Hosts LA Tech, Southern Miss

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team will look to move up in the Conference USA standings with home matches against Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss this weekend at the FAU Soccer Stadium.
The Owls (7-7, 1-3 C-USA) are coming off of a split weekend in Texas where they fell to North Texas 2-1 before topping preseason favorite Rice 3-2 in double overtime. Junior Geovana Alves scored her third game-winning goal of the season with the golden goal in the 102nd minute.
LA Tech (9-5, 2-2 C-USA) is 3-1 in its last four road contests and enters the weekend coming off wins over UAB and Southern Miss. Friday's match will mark the first time in program history that the Lady Techsters have played a game in the Sunshine State. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. FAU will be hosting Youth Day, where children ages 13 and under may receive tickets for $2 each and the first 100 kids will get a free hacky sack.
On Sunday, the Owls host Southern Miss (3-7-3, 1-3 C-USA) at 1 p.m. The Golden Eagles are 1-4-3 on the road this year, including a 2-0 loss at LA Tech last week. Their lone road victory came at Southern on Sept. 4 by a margin of 4-0. USM will take on FIU Friday before the matchup in Boca Raton on Sunday.
