BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic women's tennis played in the Bedford Cup over the weekend hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, FL. The three-day tournament included ten Division I teams from throughout the state of FL.

FAU played well in the Singles Back Draw B with FAU junior Bianca Biglione advancing to the Finals. Biglione defeated Ancia Ifill of Bethune-Cookman 6-4, 6-4 in the round of 16, Valentine Briceno of Florida International 6-2, 6-1 in the quarters, and Andrea Lazaro of Florida International 6-3, 6-2 in the Semi finals. Also in the Singles Back Draw B FAU sophomore Alexis Crenshaw defeated Alexandra Lyubimova of Stetson 6-3, 6-3 and FAU sophomore Marisa Ruiz defeated Hannah Fluhrer of North Florida 6-3, 6-3. FAU junior Jazz Whittaker had two wins on the weekend defeating Hilary Hanton of Bethune-Cookman 6-0, 6-0 in the Main Draw round of 32 and Brittany Hill of Stetson 6-3, 6-3.

FAU returns to action this weekend October 23-25 in Athens, GA for the UTSA/ITA Regional Championships.
