O'Rourke Took Part in New Year's Invitational

BOCA RATON, Fla. -

Florida Atlantic University men's golfer Connor O'Rourke took part in the St. Petersburg New Year's Invitational Tournament last week, which hosts outstanding players from all over the country.

"This is a premiere national tournament that boasts players from more than 40 universities," said Angelo Sands, head men's golf coach. "For Connor to receive an invite alone is a very big deal."

The event was held from Jan. 8-11 at St. Petersburg Country Club featuring a total of 72 holes over four rounds. The field was comprised of 128 players from both the collegiate and amateur level.

The sophomore finished the tournament with a total of 311. He put up his lowest round scores on the second and third day shooting 76 and making a hole-in-one during the third round.
