Head Coach Capri Grotowski Announces Coaching Staff

BOCA RATON, Fla.- Capri Grotowski, Florida Atlantic University head sand volleyball coach, has named her coaching staff. Tammy Pelski will be assistant coach, while Kendra VanZwieten will serve as a volunteer assistant.
Pelski began playing beach volleyball at the age of 12. She played in her first pro event just three years later. Over the course of her career, Pelski recorded numerous top-10 finishes, including winning the Costa Rica Invitational in back-to-back seasons. Pelski also represented the USA in Rimini, Italy at the European Fitness Festival.
She continued to play professionally until 2002, when she retired to start a family. Pelski and her husband Andrew have two children, Nieya and Ryan.
Kendra VanZwieten is currently a professional beach volleyball player and also will serve as FAU's volunteer assistant. She competes on various professional tours that travel across the world including the AVP Tour and international tours, including NORCECA, and the FIVB World Tour. Consistently, she has been ranked one of the top 20 women's beach volleyball players in the country. Van Zwieten has amassed over 24 wins and is coming off of her best year, domestically, with several top main draw finishes on the AVP tour, two Finals appearances on the NVL Tour, and three top-3 finishes in international competition on the NORCECA tour.
VanZwieten also serves as a sports performance trainer at MST Sports Performance and Head Coach/Director of Florida for Club Beach Dig. Her major certification is through NFPT, but she currently holds various certificates for CSCS, NASM, Functional Training for Sports, and Nutrition for Human Performance. She earned a BA in Psychology from FAU.
