Women's Soccer Opens Conference USA Play at Home

The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team will open Conference USA play at home this weekend as C-USA favorite Charlotte and Old Dominion come to Boca Raton. Kickoff on Friday, Sept. 26 against Charlotte is set for 7 p.m. while FAU hosts ODU on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. at the FAU Soccer Stadium.
Last week: FAU split its weekend for the fourth straight week with both matches going to double overtime. The Owls fell 2-1 against Bakersfield on Friday before claiming a 1-0 victory against Wofford. Freshman forward Hildur Hauksdottir scored both goals for FAU and the Owls outshot their opponents by an astonishing 53-10 margin.
History: FAU topped Charlotte last year 3-1 in the first meeting between the two programs. Claire Emslie netted a pair of goals in that match with the third coming from Amanda Odato. The Owls also faced ODU for the first time in 2013, battling to a scoreless draw.
