The Owls (1-1) swept Bethune-Cookman (0-2) in their first match of the day (25-7, 25-19, 25-14). FAU outhit the Wildcats -.027 to .297 in the win. Liene Mellupe and Katarina Stepanovic each had eight kills to lead the Owls.
In its second match, FAU fell to McNeese in five sets (25-19, 25-17, 16-25, 15-25, 12-15). The Owls won the first two sets over the Cowgirls, before losing each of final three sets. In the fifth and final set, the two teams battled back and forth for most of the frame. The score was tied at 12, before McNeese won the final three points to end the match.
The Owls will wrap up action at the FAU Invitational on Saturday when they play Stetson at 3 p.m. Live stats and live video of the match will be available at fausports.com.
