Sand Volleyball Drops Pair of Matches at UNF Sand Invitational

Saint Augustine, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University sand volleyball team lost both of its matches at the UNF Sand Invitational on Saturday, losing to Georgia State 5-0 and UNF 3-2.
The Owls were swept by Georgia State in their first match of the day. Gabriella Pyle and Andrea Galinis were competitive on the no. 4 court, forcing a third set, but couldn't come away with the victory.
In its second match, FAU was edged out by the host Ospreys 3-2. The tandem of Megan Knapp and Mandy McIntosh outlasted UNF's duo of Emily Strack and Britt Claessens in three sets at no. 3, while at no. 4 Pyle and Galinis were able to fend off Tanner Garbutt and Cameron McGuire to win in straight sets.
The Owls return to the sand on Sunday for Day Two of the UNF Sand Invitational.
