The Florida Atlantic University baseball team looks to recover after suffering three losses at Rice last weekend, FAU's first time being swept since 2011. FAU ranks 17th in the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio at 2.95 and throws the fewest walks in Conference USA at 2.62 per nine innings.
Freshman Stephen Kerr leads FAU from the plate, hitting .326 over his first 24 career games. Kerr has seven RBI, six doubles and a pair of stolen bases.
Southern Miss has won four of its last five games, including defeating nationally-ranked Ole Miss 5-3 on Tuesday.
Series History: FAU and Southern Miss have never met in baseball.
