Florida Atlantic Women's Tennis Falls to Iowa State

BOCA RATON, Fla. (February 14, 2014) - Florida Atlantic women's tennis fell to Iowa State 6-1 on Friday. The Owls won only one singles match, but pushed several matches to third set tiebreakers. The loss drops FAU to 1-2 on the season.
FAU freshman Kandis Legall won the lone singles match for FAU, defeating Kesenia Pronina 3-6, 6-4, 10-6. FAU junior Catalina Ene battled to a third set before losing to Meghan Cassens 4-6, 6-2, 10-7. FAU freshman Bianca Biglione battled Emma Waites and cramping in her legs, before losing in the third set 0-6, 7-5, 10-6. FAU Senior Stephanie Cardullo also played to a third set before losing to Ana Gasparovic 7-6, 2-6, 10-7. FAU junior Taylor Briggs teamed with Kandis Legall to defeat Emma Waites and Caroline Andersen to secure the only doubles win for FAU.
FAU plays three matches next weekend starting, Feb. 20 at 4 p.m. against Youngstown State, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. against Stetson, and Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. against FGCU. All home matches are played at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton.
