Beach Classic Takes Women's Basketball to West Coast

The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team travels cross-country to take on Long Beach State and New Mexico State in LBSU's Beach Classic starting on Friday, Dec. 19.

The Owls (5-3) will face a tough opponent, Long Beach State, to open the tournament at 8 p.m. ET on Friday. The 49ers (9-1) have won seven in a row and knocked off No. 17 Cal 58-56 in overtime on Dec. 13. LBSU's lone loss came at the hands of USC 90-85 in overtime back on Nov. 21.

On Saturday, FAU will square off against New Mexico State at 6 p.m. ET. The Aggies (4-5) dropped their first five games of the year, but have won four in a row entering the tournament. FAU has never faced LBSU or NMSU in the program's history.

Audio broadcasts of both games will be available on FAUSports.com with Brandon Goodwin providing the play-by-play courtside. The Owls return home to host UNC-Wilmington on Dec. 19 at FAU Arena.
